Israel

Sabbath

In Israel on Sabbath
the elevators stop
on every floor
so Hasidic Jews
don’t have to
press a button.

It takes me twenty
minutes to
reach your room.

I catch you getting ready
to pick up some
guy
whose eye
you’ve
caught and
pocketed.

You’re playing
for the
pink team
these days.

When we
kiss goodnight
it’s on
the mouth,
full.
